Our History: Jean-Michel Stéphan comes from a family of market gardeners and fruit growers—on his father’s and great-grandfather’s sides. When it was first established, the vineyard comprised 2 hectares of AOC Côte Rôtie, which were sold to a local wine merchant. It wasn’t until 1994 that the first bottles were released. In 2017, Jean-Michel Stéphan partnered with his son Romain to found Maison Stéphan and build its future. Then, in 2022, his second son, Dorian Stéphan, joined the family estate to work together on developing this unique vision of their region.
